O God, You made Saint John of Dukla,
a zealous devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
shine in the Order of Friars Minor

About the Saint
Saint John of Dukla (c. 1414–1484) — priest, Bernardine friar, patron of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl and Lviv. Born in Dukla in the Subcarpathian region of Poland. He joined the Conventual Franciscans and later transferred to the Observants (Bernardines). He served as guardian of monasteries in Lviv and Krosno.
He was renowned for his fervent Marian devotion, the gift of contemplation, and care for the poor. Canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2003. His liturgical feast day is celebrated on July 10.
As a Bernardine friar and patron of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl, to which the Wetlina parish belongs, St. John of Dukla is especially dear to our monastic community.
