The IV Sunday of Easter is Good Shepherd Sunday and the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, which begins the Week of Prayer for this intention.
This week the liturgy of the Church commemorates:
on Wednesday - the feast of St. Catherine of Siena, virgin and Doctor of the Church, patroness of Europe;
on Friday - the memorial of St. Joseph the Worker;
on Saturday - (May 2) Since the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Poland falls on a Sunday, and an Easter Sunday does not accommodate Solemnities, the Solemnity of Our Lady, Queen of Poland is transferred to Saturday. Holy Masses on that day in our church will be celebrated according to the Sunday schedule: in Wetlina at 8:00, 10:00, and 17:00, and in Kalnica at 11:30.
This week also includes the days of Christian renewal:
on the First Friday, we invite and encourage everyone to make use of the Sacrament of Penance from 17:30 to 18:00. We especially remind the children who received their First Holy Communion this year and the youth preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation;
on that day, visits to the sick and elderly of our parish with the Blessed Sacrament will take place from 10:00;
on the First Saturday at 16:30, we invite you to a reparatory devotion offered in atonement for all offenses and blasphemies directed against Our Lady.
Friday marks the beginning of the month of May, along with the May devotions (singing of the Litany of Loreto to Our Lady). These will be held on weekdays after the 18:00 Holy Mass, and on Sundays and feast days after the 17:00 Holy Mass. We warmly invite parishioners, guests, and tourists to participate in these devotions.
On Tuesday at 17:00, we invite children and parents preparing for First Holy Communion to join us for Holy Mass and a meeting.
On Wednesday at 17:00, we invite young people preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation to Holy Mass and a formation meeting.
On Sunday, May 3rd, at 10:00, we warmly invite the firefighters of the OSP Wetlina Volunteer Fire Brigade, together with their families, to Holy Mass. During the Eucharist, we will pray for God's blessing upon you and for the protection of the Blessed Mother and St. Florian.
